Orphan and Child Welfare Support

OHOWA is deeply committed to improving the well-being, dignity, and living conditions of orphaned and vulnerable children across Somaliland. The organization provides regular support to orphanages, boarding schools, and child care centers through food assistance, cash support, livelihood contributions, and seasonal relief activities.

OHOWA supported Wadamogo in Burco, Togdheer, by providing 10 goats, which were used to improve food security and ensure a sustainable source of nutrition for children. This intervention helped enhance dietary intake and provided long-term support for the orphanage’s food needs.

The organization also provided financial assistance to Ina Mooge Boarding Orphanage School in Hargeisa, enabling the institution to meet essential operational needs such as food, utilities, education materials, and daily care for children living in the facility.

In addition, OHOWA contributed support to Dhalinta Orphanage in Hargeisa, helping to improve the living conditions of children and strengthen the institution’s capacity to care for vulnerable orphans.

During Eid celebrations, OHOWA implemented special support activities under the Xaqal Eid initiative, ensuring orphaned children were included in festive celebrations, received assistance, and experienced moments of joy and happiness during the holiday period. This intervention aimed to promote social inclusion, emotional well-being, and a sense of belonging among children who often face hardship and exclusion.

Through these combined efforts, OHOWA continues to prioritize orphaned and vulnerable children by addressing both their immediate needs and long-term well-being through compassionate and community-driven interventions.
